An interesting thing about the actual animation of the film
is that Wes Anderson didn’t want the animation to look as slick as films like
coralline which looked almost computer animated. He wanted to people to notice
the actual animation so they could appreciate it. He used doubled the frames so
that there were 12 per seconds rather than 24. I personally think this was a
good decision. It was brilliant with the little jerks, and Anderson was aiming
to have jerks in it, and so he accomplished having the jerks.
